I have had my crawler for over 3 years. Its been a solid performer. Be ready to fix broken parts, but that comes with any hobby R/C (especially crawlers). This truck surprise's me again and again as to what it can scale.

I have replaced the 60 turn motors with a pair of 35 turn units. These motors were a great upgrade. The extra wheel speed helps when a little boost is needed.

I took the front wheels apart and wrapped 1lb of hollow core lead around the wheels then reassembled them. This helps the front tires dig in and pull the rest of the truck up onto the obstacle.

All that extra weight up front is hard on the stock steering servo. I replaced it with a Savox 350 in/oz coreless. This is one strong servo.

The next things to go after these mods were the steering horn and knuckles. Actually, I went through a few sets if knuckles before any mods. I got an aluminum steering horn and installed some cheap aftermarket axial ax10 aluminum knuckles. The ax10 knuckles are bolt on and required no modification.

Nitrorcx has all the parts to fix your injured crawler. Decent prices too. Every so often they are out of stock on some things, but they eventually restock. I am impressed that they have supported the truck this long. I got the truck in 2011 and parts are still available. Kudos nitrorcx!

Get at least 2 extra batteries. I've had the same 3 NiMH batteries from day one. All three still perform great and give decent drive times. The 35 turn motors will gobble up more juice than the stock units.

So there is my review. After I purchased this truck, 6 of my buddies bought their own MadTorque. Buy one, you will not be disappointed.

This is my first RC vehicle. I'm the father of 3 year old Twins, and bought it mainly for family fun and learning for the kids.

The crawler sustained a 40 pound child falling on it with NO damage. It has took so far punishment that I thought would have broken something. NOTHING!!! After experience with our son busting a toy grade truck inside of an hour beyond any patching or repair I wanted something I could buy replacement parts for and something we could take also camping and to the snow and serious rock crawling. So far haven't found anything this thing can't get over. DAD is having lots of fun by tons.

One piece of advice so far I have is put a bead of Loctite across any rotating screw or pin. We had one axle shaft screw fall out and the wheel came off. We recovered the screw/pin and put the wheel and washer back on the axle and was a learning opportunity for the children. They surprised me. At 3 they learned how Allen wrenches and screws work. Training children how to turn a wrench this seems to be a pretty good start to my surprise. They learned something valuable.

You want to test durability of a product give it to a couple of 3 year olds. If it survives them it will probably survive anything! :) LOL We're having fun. :)

Five stares for Exceed. They put together a good vehicle for children of all ages. :)

For the money this crawler looks great and is BIG. I bought it for my 8yr son and he loves it. That being said be prepared to by some parts. I bought mine in October and within two months have had to replace a few items. The drive shaft pin worked its way out and as it turned broke the axle housing so both need to be replaced. Have had to replace a few steering arms as they are pretty flimsy. Also the linkage bracket on the gear box broke. It has pretty good run time but charging is slow. I would highly recommend purchasing a nice battery charger unless you want to wait 7-8hrs to charge.

Great thing about the rig is the parts are cheap and if you live in California you receive them in a day or two.

Overall I'm going to pick one up for myself as I currently run the 1/10th Losi Night Crawler and am tired on my son running my rig over for laughs.
